FC BAYERN 30-A Chiropractic v. STANDARD de Red Bar

By STANDARD Trainer, Michelle Binkley

On Saturday, Match II Team Red Bar had an exciting match. Team Reds offense came out aggressive and took a quick small lead in the first quarter. Andy, Mitch, and Fiona all scoring and controlling the tempo of the game. By the end of the first half, Fiona and Mitch
having two goals the score was 5-3 and everyone was playing well. With an assist for almost every goal, it was easy to see Team Red's passing game is strong and improving. Andy with three assists is a powerful force at the midfield position.

In the second half, Fiona, Andy, Mitch and Macquire scored. Macquire and Fiona both had some good shots that could not be converted into goals. For as dominant as our offense was, our defense was even more. As an explosive and all around talented offense as Team Red has, it was definitely the defense that won the game. Tyler, our goalie for most of the game did an INCREDIBLE job. He saved 14 goals from being scored by diving, jumping,
and all around hustling. Jack had five blocks, and Michael and Andy with two. Daniel, Patrick, and Parker also contributed to our rock solid defense. Parker and Daniel coming through when they needed to in the second and fourth quarters both with solid and crucial blocks. Patrick's speed and agility contributed substantially to both the offense and defense. Team Red Bar ending the game 9-5 and remaining undefeated. 2-0!!

GO TEAM RED BAR!!!!!!!!!!

Fat Daddy's UNITED v. REAL Against The Wind

By UNITED Gaffer, Deb Shost

Fat Daddy’s United came out strong on Saturday.  Dalton Shost’s aggressiveness paid off when he won a 50/50 ball with Real’s goalie and poked the ball into the net within the first few minutes of the game.  Dalton and Henry Savoie added  first quarter goals making the score 3-0 after one quarter of play.  Henry scored the only United goal in the second quarter.  The third quarter went scoreless.  United scored 3 goals in the final quarter of the game, one each by Dalton, Henry, and Matthew Brooks.  United’s defense was solid as they prevented numerous shots by Real’s offense.  Lizzie McDuffie, Garrett Shost, and Olivia Garrett all showed their versatility as players by successfully playing on the defensive line as well as the forward line.  Nolan Winter made things happen out on the field with his aggressive play.  Christian Alvarez and Aria Gaffrey showed determination as they moved the ball away from our goal and toward Real’s goal.  All players had solid performances.

Ella Losee made a goal and played goalie.
Kat Ogle was on that ball like velcro.
Gigi Romano showed little fear of the ball, awesome.
Kevin Stoddard played one and a half quarters of goalie and earned the
spirit award for our match.
Logan Brooks enjoyed defense.
Caroline Bailey was a FAST forward.
Kaitlyn Barnes is all about the defense, you go girl!

CPH GALAXY v. Fat Daddy's UNITED

By GALAXY Gaffer, Kirby Williams

CPH Galaxy had a big win on Saturday with a 7-0 victory over United. Calum Aronson led the scoring for Galaxy with 3 awesome goals followed by Dylan Nemecek and Mac Williams with 2 a piece.  Jay Borick and Alex Halatsis were the equivalent of defensive jedi knights protecting the Galaxy goal.  While these players may have been the highlights, there is no question that each player contributed to the Galaxy victory over a good United team. Their coaches are very pleased of the way they are playing as a team.  Well done CPH Galaxy.

By UNITED Gaffer, Doug Bock

D'OH!!! Soaring with confidence after last week's victory, the United Eagle crashed headfirst into the impact-rated patio door called Galaxy on Saturday, knocking themselves silly. Goals rained down on the United players like hundred dollar bills in a Jay-Z video, and though the players gamely fought it out to the end, it was of no avail.
After a couple quick scores early by Galaxy, United rallied behind the stellar defense of Elise Plunk to hold the second quarter scoreless.

At halftime, however, contract disputes with their superstar forwards over recent salary-cap-mandated pay cuts came to a head, and the second period was again rough for United despite strong individual efforts.  Dylan Sturdivant and Turner Porterfield banged several laserbeam shots off the goalposts, but Galaxy's alien forcefield technology was too powerful that day to defeat.
Congratulations to Galaxy on their fine team play and a well-deserved win.

Meanwhile, a refocused Team United is utilizing this week to rebuild, with intensive weight-training, underwater-dribbling, and phonebook-tearing sessions. One thing is for certain: they will be ready to rock-and-roll again this Saturday! Gooooooo United!!!

Cafe' Rendez-Vous CELTIC v. REAL Against The Wind

By CELTIC Gaffer, Coleen Franek

The Beautiful Game was on full display this past Saturday. After a week of renewed focus and concentration at Training, all CELTIC Bhoys and Ghirls utilized the skills being taught at practices, including talking, passing, and working as a team. It was fun!

Notables were Brandon Emerick covering nearly every square inch of the pitch and continuing his assault on any opponents' goal with 4 goals on the day, Jaden Joodi continuing to be a solid and consistent contributor with his reliability and 2 goals in the match, Findlay Townsend added 1 goal to her contribution of rock-solid defending and blazing runs through the opposition, and Jack Franek opened his Fall 2009 Champions League (and graduation to the U-8 Division) Season's account with 3 goals, which included a nifty left-footed shot to the right post.

Kate Dargavell continues to provide leadership and be a force, Ella "Big Kick" Gritzmacher is consistently pushing herself and sharpening her skills, Risdon Bradley seems poised for a breakout match any given Saturday, and the the tandem of Mereleigh and Elan Camaret provide calm, collective, consistent and determined results out on the pitch. All deserve recognition in providing their best and doing their best for their team. A continued commitment to efforts like this past Saturday can only yield positive results for the CELTIC Nation!

'Mon the CELTS!!!
