About Us

ABOUT US:

Brian Maas, Director of Soccer Operations & Licensed Coach / US98 Soccer, Soccer 331, Soccer Academie INTER98 & 331 ARSENAL Soccer Academy.

Brian joined US98 Soccer Club in the Spring of 2008 as a Parent and immediately became active in the workings of Our Organization. While serving as a Trainer, he began assisting with structuring and developing the field space to best serve our goal of providing functional and professional looking soccer pitches. You may have seen Brian's handy camera work showing the fields in the local Walton Sun. Brian has since graduated to being actively involved in not only developing the fields, but in managing the fields and lights, and also in identifying useful Training and Match equipment for Our Youth.
Brian most recently received multiple coaching licenses from the NSCAA, and with his coaching and professional experience is abundantly qualified as a multi-dimensional coach that understands clearly that it is more than just about getting the latest certification, signing kids up to play too many matches on too many weekends, and counting trophies. Brian's focus in Soccer Academie INTER98 is on making each individual Player better, in a team environment, which competes whenthe Players are prepared.
Brian's background includes many years of teaching children, as well as being co-host of the local "US98 SportsTalk" on 30-A Radio on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:00PM on 107.1 FM. Check him out!

Marcos Pereira de Abreu - Personal Coach & Trainer
Coach Marcos is a Family-Man from Brazil, who has made the Florida Panhandle's Gulf Coast his family’s home. As some may know, soccer is a birth-right in Marcos' country, and he began to play at the ripe age of 6 Years Old. Playing nearly every position on the field, including Goalie since the age of 10, Marcos' considerable and diverse knowledge of the game allowed him and his teams to achieve successes in winning Local and State Competitions and Championships.  Marcos talent, knowledge, patience, and love of the "Beautiful Game" really shine through, whether while coaching or playing. It is nothing short of infectious to see Marcos’ smile and enthusiasm out on the pitch. Marcos says, "I love to interact with others that speak the universal ‘soccer language’. But just as importantly, I love teaching Our Youth how to express themselves creatively on what really is a blank green palate inviting each of them to make their dreams a reality. I’m dedicated, hard working, and reliable, as well though. So local families can expect 100% commitment from me, just as I expect 100% commitment from them." Marcos' experience here in the US has included opportunities to volunteer at US98 Soccer and Seaside Middle School as an Assistant Coach, and work with children from other local clubs. And at the "experienced" age of 33, Marcos still plays, and starts, for the Adult Men's Red Bar Team in several local leagues, accomplishing Championships in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
