Mission Statement
Mission

We WILL make organized and recreational soccer available to the community of Greater South Walton.  US98 Soccer will ensure that those who want to play soccer have that opportunity, and while the emphasis is on the Youth of the community, we will be advocates of soccer for EVERYONE in South Walton, and the surrounding areas.  We will provide a safe environment, where the Youth of the area can learn about, develop fitness for, and compete in soccer in a positive and fun atmosphere, regardless of skill level or ability.  We will also teach life lessons and positive character traits such as good sportsmanship, fair play, team importance, doing one’s best, never giving up, and respect of opponents, teammates, managers, trainers, and officials in honor of the "Beautiful Game".

Vision

While US98 Soccer's mission is fairly simple, the realization of its vision and goals is a little more involved. Some of the main points of US98 Soccer's focus will be as follows:

1. Make Organized Soccer Available to the Residents of Greater South Walton. Whether in the Fall, in the Spring, or even Summer or Winter, US98 Soccer will try to ensure that those who want to play soccer have that opportunity. And while the emphasis is on providing that opportunity for the Youth of this county, we will be advocates of soccer for EVERYONE in South Walton, and in the surrounding Florida Panhandle area, that is interested.

2. Propose and Realize an Additional, Multi-Use Sports Campus for South Walton. At this time, space and facilities for sports in South Walton are extremely limited, and some have yet to realize the importance and benefit to all of having adequate recreational facilities. As such, all sports programs in South Walton must work together to ensure that every child has the opportunity to play sports that spark their interest and desire to participate, and that each child has a place to play those sports. US98 Soccer is actively involved in proposing and promoting a South Walton Family Sports Campus (see: http://us98soccer.com/images//speak%20business%20plan%20v.5%20%28clean%29.doc) that will provide a win-win-win for the residents, visitors, local businesses and real estate developers, and all of Walton County and the surrounding Florida Panhandle area. Perhaps an ambitious plan, but one that can be realized if the right people and entities are willing to make the commitment.

3. Advanced Soccer Opportunities. Soccer, more than the many other sports, provides unique opportunities to the better players who make a commitment to participating and excelling. Whether helping local kids make the next step to a Soccer Academy, Middle School, High School, College, Professional, or even to try for a spot on the United States National Team, US98 Soccer will facilitate in helping any child in Our Community who seeks to attain a higher level of soccer ability. As such, Soccer Academies, Clinics, and Tournaments will be promoted along with other possible advanced soccer participation opportunities (perhaps a trip to play against youth teams in other countries?). We also plan to begin a soccer scholarship for those players seeking to continue their soccer experience into college or beyond. And we have announced our "2 x 2024" goal of having two children from this community participating in our United States National Team by the year 2024.

We can make this program successful. And when I say "we", I mean all of the parents, guardians, volunteers, and businesses that make Greater South Walton the fantastic place that brought us here, the community that keeps us here, and the possibilities that makes us want to ensure that we have the best future here.

It is imperative that US98 Soccer have your support. Whether through the payment of soccer registration fees, Sponsorships, the purchase of concessions or US98 Soccer shirts, bumper stickers, and other items, or even through private donations, US98 Soccer will be as successful as WE make it.

With Sincerest Thanks,

D. Christian Franek
